Who are the people who choose to support a small Buddhist Centre like Gaden Choling in a big city like Toronto? Our members are special people with a unique vision of the ways in which just a few committed hearts can make a profound difference in the lives of so many living beings.

Some of the differences our members are making today are:

• Our members form the backbone of a Dharma community that exists for the benefit of every living being. Through their practice of generosity, our members provide and maintain the essential physical space that makes possible the study and practice of Mahayana Buddhadharma under the guidance of a completely qualified lineage holder. From this point of view, our members are actually Bodhisattvas giving Dharma to end the suffering of all sentient beings.

• H.E. Zasep RInpoche teaching Medicine Buddha practices.

  Our members are the patrons of our compassionate and completely qualified teacher, Zasep Tulku Rinpoche. In the Lam Rim teachings, we learn that our Root Guru is kinder than all the previous Buddhas because it is only with his help that we are able to achieve full enlightenment. Through their generosity, our members provide the regular stipend that Rinpoche requires in order to continue guiding us to enlightenment. Furthermore, through their financial support, our members ensure that every struggling practitioner in our centre will continue to have the opportunity to receive the essential guidance of our kind teacher.

• Our members are also the patrons of the Gelugpa lineage in the West. Although our Centre is small, it is nonetheless a rare and precious vehicle for the transmission of teachings from this lineage to people in the West. Through the work of Rinpoche and his students in Toronto and elsewhere, the collected wisdom and practices of great teachers such as Zong Rinpoche, Pabongka Rinpoche, and Trijang Rinpoche are being conserved for future generations.
